The Karing for Kids Blessing Tree Project began as a small church project Christmas of 2003 providing 8 children with 10 gifts each.  In August 2004, Jennifer O'Reilly (our daughter) died in a tragic car accident.  At that time we began helping children in her memory and the project grew to help 80 kids receive 10 gifts each in 2004.

Having grown so much in 2007, we asked some of our family and friends to partner with us and form a committee. By doing this, we were able to help families in Wells County, and for the first time, Huntington County during the Christmas season of 2008.  

Our mission is to partner with area families to help provide their children with the necessities they require when they find that they are unable to do so on their own, with the hopes that they will see and feel the love of Jesus.

Each child receives gifts through our Blessing Tree Program that consist of clothes, shoes, underwear, socks, and one toy or fun things depending on their age.  We provide gifts for all the children in the family that are infant thru high school age.  

The families are referred to our program from the local school counselors where eligibility is determined.  If you know a family in need for our Blessing Tree Program please have them contact their child's school counselor by September 15th.
